Clematis 'Blue Angel'

Thanks Michaella....an you spot the two flowers of bindweed in the centre/bottom left? the bloomin weed has wound it's way all over the bamboo and now the clematis! Aaaaargh!!

think it is because it is mingling with all the green and lifting the shrub colours - told you I am going senile (to like blue) brain must be failing.

It's beautiful Karen. Bindweed is about the only nasty weed I get in my garden now, I hate it !!

I have just bought one of these Clems., Karen and since viewing this pic, have decided to plant it against a bare fence as no space left on the arbour! So glad you posted this photo. : o ))

:)))) you won't regret that purchase Shirley!! This is a large flowered group 3 clem, so it dies down completely in the winter and sprouts from the ground. This means you can cut the dead growth away in the autumn....a boon!

I'm blaming you for my increasing love of Clems. ... lol! : o )

Shirley, just a word of caution from bitter experience. This clem seems to be particularly brittle in new growth and so you need to be very careful when tying it in or you'll snap it.

On the brighter side....if you shove the breakages in compost they will probably root eventually!
