Your gravel area looks great, Clematisa.

I keep thinking of something different to do with it so it's growing like Topsy - and not really planned at all. I lost some of my grasses so I've been putting the annuals in to replace some of the gaps... I've taken cuttings from some of the lavender when I gave it a haircut and I may put it in there if it takes, as the lavender has done quite well there in the past...I like the perfume when you come into the drive!

I was watching a programme on the computer this afternoon - I think it's on in Ireland? This is the link to programme information...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00t4th0
Chris Beardshaw was in it so I downloaded it from BBC to watch as he was doing a front garden... always looking for new ideas! It was interesting - I find my front garden is a real hotchpotch because of all the gravel, but I don't want to lift the gravel... toooo much work, and then I don't know what I could do there as it's quite narrow, and doesn't get much sun because of the house. He was saying that front gardens can be difficult - they're overlooked and yet some are not very appealing though it can add so much to the value when you're trying to sell, in the way of getting people in.
He was talking about 3 types of planting... I think I have them all but probably not in the right order, lol.... It got me back out and "working" in the gravel area this afternoon, and I found a curry plant under the lavender... oops!
I've taken some cuttings and will see where I can move it to - somewhere it won't clash with the lavender.
