Jacaranda seedlings

They're looking good. They love heat and humidity...so they should be taking off.

Jacarandas, when young can grow 4 - 6+ feet within one year.

Wowser! We've been getting lots of H and H...so guess that's why they're so happy. Checked them out this morning and we now have secondary leaves! Yeah! So when I pot them up...what type of potting medium is best? they need a lot of light too, aye? so I'll have to keep them under grow lites when I bring them indoors... do I cut back on water and fertilizer in the winter?

They like rich fast-draining soil.

Young Jacarandas grow very differently than mature trees. Many times very young Jacarandas are evergreen and prefer more light and heat. Mature trees loose all or most of their leaves in late Winter and then start to develop their flower spikes to bloom in Spring. They usually prefer less water and no fertilizer in Winter.

I hope this helps...as I've never grown a Jacaranda indoors before. : > )

I'm sure they'll do quite well in your hands. They're actually very easy to grow...as long as they don't get subjected to very cold temps.
