A little closer, I just love blue lupine the best and these over the mountain are bigger and more colorful than north on my side.

Agreed. :-) I have to drive at least 100 miles to see them. They aren't around up this far north.

They are worth the drive. I'd never really seen so many! A joy to grow up with.

Absolutely.A lot of my garden favorites are the wild flowers I grew up with :-)

Lovely colour GT - You'll need to collect yourself some seed & plant in your garden then you won't have the long drive to see them.

TY. :-) That I should. When the seed is ready on the lupine, the pod bursts and throws the seed. Best way to collect I've heard recommended is just tie a bag around the head so the seeds can't fly away. Along the road I wouldn't trust the bag to stay put. I have discovered one at the nursery beneath a mountain ash. That may be the best to collect from.
