Smaller than a compact disk, they had lovely flowers and there were two or three dotted along the bank. Through Denali, the highest elevation along the highway there are so many wonderful alpines to be found.

TY. They really caught my attention. Bright symmetrical cushions. I've discovered a new plant book that I must get, seems to have everything! I'm sure I could name it then.

Lovely, funny how they seem to grow in rock .

Thank you. Taking a peek, there is a long tiny root running from the plant around through the rocks and deep in the moist soil underneath. Very fascinating. :-)
