Lovely, Karen, I see you have a trampoline next door ! There is one to the back of our garden and there are times when it's a real annoyance . . . grumpy old woman mode again !

All the houses around us have them Shirley, except next door...they have swings, climbing frames, wendy house, slide.......lol! I'm getting used to the noise now I think!
Lulu, the big chinese black thing that looks like a huge lantern is a fire pit with a bbq grill inside!

thought I had seen things there for a moment, get the specs. on Lulu lol - or probably you would not call it a fire pit maybe not! It is lovely I think it fits in really well and is looking good through the archway, love seeing garden ornaments and sculptures in the garden, think I will treat myself to a sculpture one day to stand tall and give me another perspective up the garden, it will be a case of just finding the right one to fit in my garden, I like the lady statues but it would be no good with bare bosoms because the workforce would just be so so rude and the mind boggles - when we had a bbq and dicko had had a few too many the, cans and bottles would find a new home lol.

Great pic, Karen. Is that a Cotinus on the right, the purpley shrub and what is the other purple one at the back - they look so pretty

Thanks Minihoney. The one at the back is acer palmatum atropurpureum and the one on the fence is Cercis Canadensis 'Forest Pansy'. Forest Pansy is really beautiful with lovely heart shaped leaves. It is quite late to come into leaf though...June up here, but that's the only downside to it...well, the branches can be a bit brittle and suffer from wind damage occasionally, but that's it. It's a beautiful shrub/small tree and in the spring it has tiny purple flowers that grow right out of the branches. It's fairly slow growing. You'd love it, and I've been seeing it a lot lately in my local GC....expensive though for a small tree, but you know me, that wouldn't put me off!! lol x
