Very tall and old Kentia Palms (Howea fosteriana)

These Kentia palms are more than 50 feet/ 15 meters tall. They are probably around 100 years old or older. Photo taken July 17, 2010 in Hillcrest, San Diego, CA.

Well, they're still youngins' ... I believe Kentia Palms live for hundreds of years.

What a green and lush area that is, is rainfall higher in this region ?

Hillcrest is a district just east of downtown San Diego...and it's as dry as a bone. Everyone here has to have good irrigation systems...or has to water a lot by hand (like I do)..it's been quite a challenge with our water restrictions though. : > )

Hmm, i imagine it has.
That area/garden looks like it's had spend time on it though, it's lovely.

Hillcrest borders on Banker's Hill and is one of the oldest districts in San Diego. Many of the gardens here have been well-established for many decades.
