Red Flowering Gums and Fishtail Palms looking southeast at Quail Botanical Gardens. The monsoonal clouds were trying to sneak in this day. Photo taken August 3, 2010. I was lucky enough to spend a couple hours at the garden on their free day.

This day was pretty hot. The monsoonal flow from the southeast is what brings us our very hot and humid weather. The last 2 days have been much cooler than normal though.
To answer you question -- we still haven't had the usual consistently hot, muggy weather which is typical for this time of year.

Well, it sure looks tropical, even if it doesn't feel tropical!

It actually felt pretty tropical this day...the clouds were coming from the monsoonal flow...which as you know is the hot and humid flow. Although, most of our summer hasn't felt very warm at all.
