Just come back from work and saw this colour combo and really it is so fab! Love it. Pity the hollyhocks get rust though. But I chope the really bad leaves off and hope for the best. And wonder whether to dig up the salvia and put it in the green house over winter. I do love salvias especially the blue ones, so maybe it's time to buy more and look after them better!

I have this salvia Lulu, amazing blue, Patens? I collect the seed and grow fresh each year really easy from seed, although some survived last winter outside!!!!!!! you can dig up the tubers and store like a dahlia.

Hi Simbad, I have just collected the salvia seeds as it's getting cold now!!! Please could you tell me when to sow them............thanks.xx

Sorry Lulu only just seen this, you can sow them now and overwinter them in the greenhouse, but I sow them March/April they grow just as fast and flower the first year, sow them on the surface and don't cover with compost for some reason salvias grow better when surface sown !!!, then just put in a warm bright spot windowsill or greenhouse :-)
