Little Dianthus First Flower

This little dianthus was put in last year in the green without ever a bloom. It made it through winter, even in this bank of poor soil and is showing bright little blooms. The plant is very low and flat with 9 inch flower stems, so the blooms seem to be floating in the air above it.

Thank you. I had never tried this low matting variety before, but these flowers have taken my attention. :-)
