Delonix regia - Royal Poinciana Blooming

Delonix regia - Royal Poinciana Blooming (Delonix regia - Royal Poinciana)

Royal Poinciana blooming late -- with not too many flowers this year because of the much cooler than normal summer. Photo taken August 22, 2010.

They usually bloom around late March, early April, here--provided they haven't frozen the previous winter!

Tugbrethil:

I've seen many photos of Delonix regia - Royal Poinciana growing beautifully in Phoenix and Yuma, AZ. (also in the low deserts of California) They absolutely love that extreme, blast-inferno-type heat. : > )
