I love the colour of this one and the one in your avatar. I'm almost tempted to get some for next year and grow them in pots!...and that's me, the 'dahlia disliker' :))

I definitely prefer them to chrysanthemums...but perhaps it's the wasps and the earwigs Motty....no, actually, it's the work involved in keeping them!!

I find them easy....I agree with you about the earwig thing...yuck.....Im not fussy on Chrysanths at all.....A few of the same variety would look lovely running through your border, i bet...:>)

That's a lovely idea and one that may even solve a problem I have, namely little colour in the spring border once spring has sprung! It's cold and dark in the winter but plenty sunny in the summer...so If I grew some in pots I could just pop them in among the 'greenage' !

Oh yes you could Karen....There are so many to choose from....and the colour range is endless......Come on now ..you know you want to ..lol

Ha! LOL just clicked off Rose Cottage garden plants website! been looking at their dahlias...thinking 'Giraffe' for next summer!...note in diary to order in January!

Is that the pink 'giraffe' you like Karen?....I had a look at Rose Cottage Dahlias...some beauties.....I had the white one 'brides bouquet' a colarette, for quite a few years and last winter the frost killed it off....I wish i had lifted it.....

It was pinky and orangey if I remember rightly, with a double orchid bloom. I've bookmarded the site so I can go back in the winter and cheer myself up buying a few tubers!
