Everblooming Gardenia is a very popular variety of Gardenia...as it blooms all year. lol! : > ) Not sure why this plant has no flowers. Photo taken at my favorite nursery in San Diego, CA. on August 31, 2010.

My gardenia also doesn't bloom so well.It has very few blooms sometimes in a year.I don't know what is her problem.

Tugbrethil:
Gardenia jasminoides can be difficult and temperamental at times. They are widely grown...however, I've never seen them look as healthy and beautiful and large as the ones grown in Hawaii and the San Francisco Bay Area. The exception is Gardenia thubergia which grows into a 20 foot tree here.

Camillia:
Gardenia prefers an acidic soil...if they don't receive it they don't bloom well and have yellow leaves.

I've found that they also need at least 4 hous of direct sun a day to bloom really well--when they used to be sold as a shade plant, here.

Yes, very true...they love hot sun. All the Gardenias were in all day full sun at this nursery.
