A young Shaving Brush tree in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. This is a pretty slow growing tropical tree native to eastern Mexico. Photo taken August 31, 2010.

The caudex on this small plant is pretty big. Unfortunately, I didn't get a pic of it.
There's some nice big specimens here too...however, it's not too widely grown...although it's widely available in the nurseries now.

There are a few full grown ones in the milder parts of the Phoenix area--really spectacular giant cauduciforms!
