rogue concrete slabs

You could plant some herbs in the cracks by clearing the earth out, this might soften the concrete look.

These concrete slabs are placed randomly in the back garden...I'm not sure what the intention was of the previous owner...some are laid in side by side strips (almost as if it used to be used for a car to park) and others are laid in an attempt at a seating area but it's very small and uneven.

My plan is to lift these concrete slabs and salvage what we can to make a seating area...undecided whether to put them on top of the large concrete patch near to the back of the house....still in the planning stages!

Herbs are a good idea and I'm sure they'll find a place somewhere in our little patch of garden. Thanks for your comments and suggestions GM.

Awww Valadel....how kind. It isn't a very big back garden I realize after looking on GOY and seeing all the large and beautifully developed gardens!

Hubby and I are not agreeing with what we should do with the space....oh the joy! I know we'll reach an understanding (mine?...lol) and agree a budget soon! It's the right time of the year to really get cracking on clearing the area.

You've all been so responsive. Thanks so much.

Good luck with the work you are undertaking, I know how hard it can be to lay the groundwork for a new garden, but think of the pleasure you will get when you are sitting out there on a balmy summer evening not too long from now hopefully!

So true, Bellflower....it will be lovely once it's done...summer evenings next year just have to be enjoyed in our 'yet to be developed' garden. Can visualize it...just have to get to it!! lol
