It is tough, it's survived the last two winters with no problem and I've propogated some cuttings from it that have taken with no problem.

I've never thought of cuttings! Do you mean the sections that "tumble" out if the sides?
I've let one spike go to seed as they're very easy from seed too.

Hi Meanie, I just tend to take shoots that have no flowers about 10cm long and cut them just below a leaf node. I stick them round the side of a terracotta pot with gritty free draining soil and away they go!

I got a dozen cuttings this year from P. 'plum jerkum'..... I couldnt believe how easy they were...This one is gorgeous mrcushy.....:>)
