Kind and broke, Lin, kind and broke. You wouldn't believe my cat food bills. I was lucky enough to have 60 pounds of Nutro given to me 2 weeks ago. It's all gone!

And another motherless baby arrived tonight. He is a three week old black and white kitten who was on somebody's doorstep. I put him with Sundae since her kittens are the same age and she's a very good mother.
Lin, I am feeding 6 cats with Feline Leukemia who live away from my other cats in the garage (which people think is terrible, but it's heated in the winter and stays very cool in the summer, anyway, it's better than being dead), about 15 healthy cats, 5 foster adults, and 14 foster kittens. Plus my three dogs, a snake, and a whole bunch of turtles. I didn't realize how much money I was spending on pet food until one day I sat down and figured it out. The reason for my financial problems then became painfully obvious. Unfortunately, I live in a place where animals are considered throwaways. Our county shelters all have extremely high euthanasia rates. It's hard to walk away when one might be able to help, even just a bit.
