Just popped to the library this morning and there by the church path were these gorgeous Autumn crocuses.......now where's my trowel...Lol!

Lol Grandmage...... these are plants that local people have donated to the church garden....I was joking....:o)))
They come up Dawn with no leaves...they come after, and they're much bigger than spring ones. Lotties a little gem, though she's trying it on with pusscats....Ted grabbed her earlier and pinned her down as she was giving him some cheek......:o((

yes always funny how you get leaves at different time to flowers, love them as bigger than normal crocus, i may get some now iv seen these ;o)

Yes, me too, looking on the right there, you can get the double type and white ones too.....all these plans for next year!!

Its strange how they flower before the leaves emerge the true Autumn Crocus do the same as do the Autumn flowering Snowdops.

I planted lots of colchicums last year, four different kinds. Two groups flowered but there is no sign of any of them this year, although one did come up in the spring and died down...still waiting for the flower though :( Yours are lovely!

most autumn Colchicums come from Eurasia so would be used to a nice warm dry Summer.There is still time for yours to flower some of mine are not flowering yet, and I am way south of you
