This is the other Lawned area, which houses the veg plot also...We are attempting to create a more interesting area here, to be able to sit in the shade....

I love the staghorn...I am scared to have one in my garden as people say they send suckers everywhere, that it is hard to get rid of :(

I have one Michaella, where it was originally it died (think because of drought) a couple of years back, but there are bits of it coming up all over the place. But for me it was very close to the wooded area and because of this the suckers are not really a problem. I did however transplant one piece many years ago, (think mine is the male variety no flowers) this piece is now a tree and it has not suckered at all, someone else posted on here about them and apparently it is if the tree becomes stressed/damaged it then throws out suckers to protect itself (maybe that was why it suckered at the top of the garden by the woodside) but in the border it is ok. Just wished mine had the stagshorn flowers on it. Bonus is it gets to be a beautiful colour in Autumn though.

It is looking good Crissue, nice to get a bit of shade, I struggle with the sun late afternoon when it is low in the sky. I hate sunshine in my eyes, it stops me seeing other things in the garden. Hope you are getting lots of sun though to help pass on the latter months of the year.
