I think that somethings been eating the pods Mushy! I seem to remember that the seeds I collected (then lost when I moved) were brown and the pods split open.
I'd cut this pod off (and probably most of the other pods too) and give it as much protection from frost as you can. At a guess, there are probably 30 or 40 seeds visable through this wound, so one or to pods will give you the best chance of strong viable seeds (and more plants than you'll want to care for for the next five to seven years until they bloom).
