Brugmansia

There were six at work and when there was a thrip infestation from the last of the annuals, they decided to toss everything. I got one of these. Babied it out of pests, got it going again, brought it in the house, and spidermites and mealybugs! I think I'll have to toss it as well. Getting too cold outside to keep it there.

Know how you feel. I had one indoors once, the perfume filled the whole of downstairs but the dreaded red spider mites got it! :((((

Sad to see go, but just too many pest problems. I was excited and afraid for the scent Karen. They were just tagged trumpet flower but I thought it resemble Brugmansia more than Datura which looks very similar. Reading about Datura, it is poisonous enough that if flowering in the house it can cause disturbing dreams and hallucinations. I was again, hoping for Brugmansia. Its going now though.....:-)

Hmmm....I think mine was actually Datura. It was in the conservatory and I can't recall having any weirder dreams than usual....but I always have really weird dreams!! The scent was absolutely amazing though and strong enough to cause headaches for sure.

I found that info when investigating what variety I had. I seldom remember my dreams, so I was hoping for a little stimulation, and a toss out if I started seeing pink elephants.....lol. But alas, its just going for now. Will have to try another one day.

What a shame after your efforts to save it.
