Hi Bjs, yes that is a compost bin, the cheapest that I could find down at my local garden center, I think it cost about 15€s, ( thats euros not pounds).

Our council does discounted composters and wprmeries, I got mine for £5 - was surprised at how big it was when it arrived; had to squeeze it through the back door.
but for some reason they don't do discounted water butts, which I also wanted, and still do, even though there are no drainpipes on my bit of wall, or on any bit of wall that I can see alongg the block - no idea where the rainwater goes!

thanks, Booboosmum: it'd be academic anyway, cos there are no downpipes in my part of the block, don't know where the rain goes, but it doesn't come in my direction! I'd promised myself a compsoter and water butt when i got a garden, but, sigh, nowhere to link a water butt to.
