Ctenanthe Oppenheimiana cv 'Quadricolor' has been in this spot for more than 3 years now. It bloomed a few weeks ago...however, the flowers are pretty insignificant. Photo taken Sept. 22, 2010.

We call this if its the one which closes its leaves the prayer plant.

There's several genera in the Marantaceae family, encompassing many thousands of species...virtually all close up at night. There's actually several common names for these species, however, many are referred to as prayer plants. :>)
