I'm same as Tetrarch. disappointed as it is such a beauty!

that's a shame, it must like it where I've got it, and my soil is extremely free draining

Ahh..mine is much more towards clay, even tho I grit before planting..must try the other end of the border near the roots of my honeysuckle..much drier there

that might work, this one is in full sun for most of the day, when it's shining that is LOL, Bonariensis thrives out there too

I thought I had, too - but up it came again, a bit late. They sometimes survive, sometimes not with me.

I just got some this year.....must give them a good mulch if they have a tendancy to disappear!!

Lost V B last winter, but lots of seedlings...:>)
16 Oct, 2010
that's good news that it seeded :-)

Yes, I think my V. rigida did, too, and one of the plants sent out a kind of runner...it was strange!
V. bon always seeds - in the strangest of places, too! lol.

doesn't it just lol

I had to pull some up from the path - it was getting like an obstacle course! They don't transplant well - have you found that?
18 Oct, 2010
I haven't had too much trouble with them B, if they are quite small, I pot them on and they seem to grow ok
18 Oct, 2010
Oh yes - when they're tiny, I just scoop up a few and pot them up - I really meant when they're bigger. I should have explained better. :-/
18 Oct, 2010
I have a couple of big ones out there now, I'll move them and see what happens ;-)
19 Oct, 2010
Oh - please don't do an experiment on your Vbs and lose them because of me, Grindle! I shall be so upset if they don't survive...
19 Oct, 2010
LOL no it's ok B, they are growing where I don't want them, so have to come out anyway, if I don't try and transplant them they will go in the compost ;-)
19 Oct, 2010
Oh, that's all right then. You had me worried there, Grindle! :-)))))
