It is very peaceful and quiet out there ... well except for the birdsong! There's always some bird or other singing away at this time of year!

birdsong we can cope with. It's all the other racket we can do without. Ooops, Sorry, and your wonderful music. We definately need that too. :o))

Luckily I live in a place where we don't hear much else except the birdsong, the insect noises and the wind! Ha ... the only lovely music around here is from the stereo or radio. I'm not sure the neighbours like the sound of my piano practice ... but lucky for them, they're not too close!!

Hahaha. Lol. :o))

Absolutely gorgeous! I wish I had a courtyard! ...as they're very common here too.
If I had a courtyard...I would probably have the same plants growing outside as you (I have most already)...maybe more palms though. : > )

I'll have to take a shot showing the other end, Andy ... there's palms down that way! I can imagine your courtyard would look pretty much the same ... if you had one, lol!

Bernieh:
Yes, I'd love to see the photos of the other end...with all the palms. : > )
I love all the Dracaena species/varieties in your courtyard. Many of my neighbors have huge Dracaenas to more than 20 feet/ 6.1 meters tall...they must be old because some of the homes in this neighborhood were built in 1918. I'll have to get some pics.

I must make sure to take a few shots the other way ... never really do that! Yes the Dracaenas have been a favourite of mine for many many years ... I've had those 'Red Wings' for quite some time now as I find they're the most reliable and hardy. The others come and go ... some look far better than others! Will look out for shots of those giant Dracaenas ... not too many giants around here as they were certainly not a common plant way back in the early 1900's here.

That would be terrific! I'd love to see the other side of your garden! : > )
Some species of Dracaena have been cultivated here since around 1800...especially Dracaena draco. Dracaena marginata which I was referring to...probably since the early 1920's based on the size of some of the trees I've seen in San Diego and around the old sections of southern California.
If you do a GoY search on Dracaena, you'll see some of my large posted Draceana marginata.

Thanks Sandra ... our Spring is now heating up, so some of the annuals have already had their day!

It's been an up-and-down year out there this year, Marguerite. Not enough bright sunshine, too many dreary overcast days and too much drizzly rain ... annuals like the Petunias and the Pelargoniums didn't do well at all.
