Jacaranda mimosifolia - Jacaranda Flowers

This is gorgeous...I would love one of these in my garden. Really like these types of leaves. Would it survive the winter here???

This tree should grow there...as long as you don't get heavy frost. Mature trees are able to tolerate brief temps to 25 degrees F./ -4 degrees C. Although, I think they prefer a frost-free climate like here in San Diego.

Sounds like there should be no problem then. Really thinking about having one. Thanks for the info. Will post picture when I get one.

Sounds great. It's a very fast growing tree also.

Jacarandas are very common trees around the Valley of the Sun. Usually they bloom in April or early May, but one out of a hundred will bloom in October, and one out of ten thousand blooms spring through fall. Some day I'm going to catch one of those long-bloomers, and try to take cuttings!

I've seen quite a few this year that still have a lot of flowers. It's still not as spectacular as the April - June bloom when the trees are leafless or almost leafless.
