This is one of my double flowered African Violets growing on a west facing window in our kitchen.

Thanks, PP! :-)) The leaves are very thick, they are a step down from being succulents. Their leaves can store quite a bit of water & they can go for a couple of weeks dry like dust & still recover as if nothing had happened! Well if they get to that state they may lose a couple of the lower leaves as they go brown & shrivel up but the plant itself continues like nothing has happened! They can't tolerate standing in a saucer of water that will kill them a lot faster than dryness over a couple of weeks!
