Industrious mice!

I was amused to see that the local mouse population had collected these hazel nuts and placed them inside a stacking tray inside an empty but dry coldframe on my nursery

Clever arent they, I think the squirrel usually helps himself to our hazel nuts, always shells at the base of the trees.

Ours to Dawn , the ground is littered with the shells ,there's never any nuts for us , I collected the cob nuts early one year hoping to beat them to it , they weren't quite ready so neither we or the squirrel had a feast . :o(

There are no squirrels im my garden and even if they were they couldn't get inside my coldframes! :)

If you have that many mice you will have to watch any Crocus bulbs.

Little devils, arent they. I set some bulbs today in a pot and the cats decided it would be good fun to dig the soil out, tut, what chance to we have :-)

lol.....Busy little critters aren't they? Looks like there are plenty of broken shells from those already consumed too.
