This Spiral Ginger has orange cones and red-orange-yellow flowers...you can see it's just starting to bloom. Photo taken in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. on Sept 29, 2010.

The flowers are red-orange with yellow. You're thinking of Costus speciosus - Crepe Ginger...which has the large white flowers.
