I really love them - they flower for so long, and you can get so many different colours, too.

What a lovely colour. I have a few penstemons - what should I be doing with them now? Do I cut them down to ground level in the spring?

Leave the last seedheads on them, Jan. This is to help protect them in the winter. In the spring, just cut them to the new growth. Sometimes that's down low, sometimes not. Better to cut higher if you can't see any new shoots, then if a plant doesn't produce any to start with, you'll still get flowers.
