I got this Mexican plant through the winter and into flower again by planting it in a sheltered sunny spot near the house and mulching the roots with old fern fronds

New to me, Andrew. Does it give a good show of flower with you?

Vincent - the yellow flowers only start in October but then it opens a lot of them until stopped by the frosts. But it does have those strange purple and green growths in the leaf joints to give interest from much earlier in the season

I thought I had lost mine Andrew .. it was very slow to come up this year , my hubby had an accident last year just as the frosts started , which made me forget to cover the crown until after we had already had a couple of frosts , it's made up for it and is spreading well it's about 6ft tall ... I'm pleased you managed to keep your going after moving it ......
