Thanks! The Cattleyas growing on the large Banyan trees at the San Diego Zoo are much more impressive.

Upper left corner there peeks thro a pretty white Phalaenopsis! Both are just gorgeous. Now if only the Phal was scented too!!

Phalanopsis orchids are very common, hardy and easily grown indoors and out. Yes, it's too bad they don't have a scented flower! :>)

I have seven phals...five of which are putting up blossom spikes... they seemed to go into a slump last spring...and spent the summer out in the shade porch... when the temps drop into the 50's at night I bring them indoors and they start to bloom. They need a cold shock. I don't push them to bloom all year...they seem to enjoy their rest.

Thanks! Yes, it's a very bright white variety. This is just the beginning of the orchid flowering season. :>)
