You would be very surprised what orchids varieties/species are available here, it's in the tens of thousands. No joking!
The orchid hybridizers have gone hog-wild in the U.S.!

We had one specialized orchid nursery here for many years ... but that was a long time ago and when they retired no-one took on the business. Nowadays we have to rely on the little nurseries or the large Mitre 10 and Bunnings nurseries which really don't carry all that many orchids. It's a real shame as it's the perfect climate here for so many of them.

If the competition wasn't so fierce here...I'd love to have a specialty nursery. I would only sell the rare and unusual tropical plants.

I'd especially love to get a supplier of Carphalea kirondron shrubs. It's not available at all in the U.S. from what I've read. It's native to Madagascar and most plants native there do well here in Southern California.
