I chopped all my Canna down. They were taking over...so I put in my ti leaf and Song of India which I've had in pots for a long time. Photo taken Oct. 12, 2010.

I'm not a big fan of Canna either ... I don't have it in my garden anymore apart from one in a pot.
This looks lovely now Andy ... must get some Song of India!!

It all looks wonderful, you are so lucky to be able to grow such stunning plants.

The Canna I have in my front yard is grown for its foliage only. It typically blooms (tiny red flowers) in fall or winter because it's too shaded from the large Jacaranda tree in summer.
I'm sure a Dracaena reflexa - Song of India would love your climate and grow quickly like it does here. It's such a great variegated shrub!

Thanks! :>)
Yes, I'm pretty lucky! I can grow a lot of interesting tropical plants here. Also, now is a good time to plant...before the rain comes.
