Know what you mean Margaret I have very few left now mainly sedums, a few Roses and Penstemons, luckly have lots of colour from my shrubs, but have planted quite a few perrenials for next year so hoping for more colour then!

Evening Carole ,yes it's sad,it just seems all at once.what ones are Penstemons and Sedums??. We had frost for the first time last night.i took those last few pics in just time.I'm like you though having colour in my shrubs.What perennials have you planted, i did not no we could plant anything for next year,does the frost not kill them, i've been planting

Margaret You will recognise Sedums and Penstemons. I will put a picture of Sedums on for you and if you lok at Amys pictures you will see some lovely Penstemons.
I got bare rooted perrenials from Morgan and Thompsons they are Echinacea, Globe Thistles, Lithropes and Michaella sent me lots of roots of Rudebeckia, so hopefully lots of colour next Autumn. Ypou can still plant Perrennials this month and into next before the cold eather comes;0)

evening Carole, i looked threw and found your Penstemons yes i like them , so is that a good site to buy from??. I must admit i have never bought off line, how have you found it??. I'm sitting waiting to see if a fox comes to feed, he's been coming for a about 2 weeks now, oh god Carole you wont believe it i've just seen him come across the garden .if you dont mind i will catch up tomorrow :-)))

Hope you manage a picture Margaret, wow a fox!! As for buying plants online Im not that keen, have had mixed success rates but they were offering free bare rooted perennials so I took advantage. [think you are better buying where you can see the plants;0)

No as you say Carole i think i like to see what a plant looks like, and i'm not confident about buying on line.Joining this has been the biggest thing i've done on line.:-))
