I 'do' like pink pansies, Pip! LOL.

22 Oct, 2010

Agree it is pretty.

That IS gorgeous! :o)

Yes - the box of 6 are all different shades of pink! It's hard to choose a favourite one. :-)))

They look purple to me, Spritz!

22 Oct, 2010

They show up lavender blue on my monitor, too, Pip!

23 Oct, 2010

They really are pink, honestly!! The label on the box said 'Shades of Pink' as well.

23 Oct, 2010

Okay, okay.... LOL

Strange digital reverse of the "Ageratum effect"? Who knows?! I don't even know how the "Ageratum effect" works!

24 Oct, 2010

Nor do I - and that's an unfamiliar term to me anyway! LOL.

Maybe we can all agree that they're pansies and they're attractive? ;-)))

24 Oct, 2010

Definitely ;o)))))

24 Oct, 2010

LOL.

Spritz, in ordinary photography, the "Ageratum effect" refers to how photos of some blue flowers (or dyes) turn out pinker than the flower actually is. That's why old seed catalogs have pictures of these impossibly turquoise Ageratums and other blue flowers. The printer--who obviously isn't either a gardener or an artist--was apparently told that that photo of a lilac pink bloom was actually a blue flower, and that he should fix it, so he recolored it with a wash of cyan ink--or, in these latter days, "PhotoShopped" it! I've seen some digital photos that had the "Ageratum effect", and some that had the opposite, but rarely any with a true representation of that range of lavender blues and lilac pinks. Go figure!

That's true as far as bright cerise and purple shades come out on my camera, Tug, and to a certain extent, blue. Thanks for the information - that's interesting!

(Oh, and apparently pink as well! LOL)

25 Oct, 2010

definitely purple again on my screen!!

28 Oct, 2010

Boo-hoo...Everyone's ganging up on me and my pretty pink pansies! ;-(((

29 Oct, 2010

Spritz I took a pic of my lone michaelmas daisy yesterday, one where I cast my shadow over it, the other in full sun. The sunny one came out the true colour, pinky mauve and the shaded one a most definite blue.

lol...see...another reason for me to get a new camera!! Bet Janey's colours always come true!! ;)

29 Oct, 2010

Huh! Very unfair. Louise has a good camera - I shall check up on the colours she gets - as I've seen the real thing!

29 Oct, 2010

Oh go on then! ;))

30 Oct, 2010

I do know that she takes fantastic photos, and as far as I'm aware, the colours come out true on GOY.

30 Oct, 2010

:)) .....so...what's the verdict then Spritz? Is it pink on Louise's screen? Cause if it is, then I definitely need to get a new camera!

30 Oct, 2010

Errrrr...I meant that I looked at her flowers when I was in her garden, and then at my PC, and they're the same colours. I didn't look at my pansy on her screen!

31 Oct, 2010

lol! Don't worry, I need a new camera!! ;))

31 Oct, 2010

You'd better ask L. what hers is, then. LOL.
