Just googled this. I remember my friend saying they only lasted one night. It has a gorgeous perfume which for some reason I dont remember..most strange!...and the latin name is Epiphyllum oxypetallum..apparently the are also found in the Mojave Desert, California..

A bit like beauty and the beast of the flower world! Just how big is this? - it looks enormous.

I cant be certain Gee it was a fair distance away but would guess about 8"?Maybe more. Not even sure its what I said it was. Our Aussie friends called it Queen of the Night but this was not "dangling" from a sort of root like the picture on the net, it appeared to be growing right off the side of the cactus. I understand that Australia dont have any indigenous cacti..so now Im really puzzled..

Dont know if you are into cacti Meanie, but thought you might like this. It was in a "neighbours" garden next to where we were staying.
