About 10 years ago I used to do quite a bit of handyman work ,laying patios, erecting fences, refelting shed and flat roofs etc .
Here is an arbor I made for a customer. From memory I think the cost of materials was about £15 and it took me an afternoons work. At that time I charged £6 per hour so the total cost was abot £40
I know the exact date I made this because as I was working on it she came running out to tell me the twin towers had been attacked.
I also laid the timber decking at the back using materials supplied by the customer.

Your customer will have been very happy with the finished arbor. It looks very nice and certainly sturdier and less expensive than bought arbors.

I miss the handyman work which I enjoyed and found interesting. I gave it up because of the difficulties of maintaining a constant stream of work. I still do bits and pieces for my gardening customers though, most of whom are in their late 70's or 80's.
I've got a garage roof to refelt in a few weeks and some guttering to replace so that will keep me occupied for a bit during my quiet time ,gardening wise
