That's a different sort of Aglaonema! I haven't seen that in the house plant trade yet, either.

Tugbrethil:

It's very new. I saw it available for sale last year for the first time. It is an incredible plant! And it's very expensive! I have Aglaonema 'Jungle Queen' growing in my front yard, in deep shade. It's been doing well for 3 years now.

Aglaonemas just seem to conk out in the summer here, even if they survive the rare frost in the winter.

Tugbrethil:

I think overall: Aglanemas like even moist warm temps.

I was about to say that the A.Red Sumatra in the photo looked like it was getting too much sun!

Lori:

I think this variety likes a little more sun to keep the color going strong. This plant is located in pretty deep shade.

Guess it's my aging eyesight, D1~... It looked a little crisp around the edges!

Lori:

It's not crisp around the edges! LOL! It's just leaves that have fallen on the plant. :>)

That's one hazard to growing "houseplants" in the landscape: the dust particles get pretty big! : D

Tugbrethil:

I don't think it's a hazard. Many "houseplants" are under story plants in the rain forest. (except for the hybrids of course). It is just part of nature. :>)
