We are still enjoying this clematis. It has a lot more flowers on now.

Must be the light playing on it. The flower on the right is closer to the colour which is dark purple. They are really dark when they first open and then they go lighter as the flower ages. It is already out this year. I may take a pic of it tomorrow.

I do like this one... update on my dead clematis...it's not dead!!! it's poking through the ground...I'm so glad..I thought it was dead and gone...It is much like Niobe but no purple, a very deep red. can't remember the name at the moment.
