This beautiful large shrub native to Java was growing and blooming at Sea World, San Diego, CA. Photo taken Nov. 09, 2010.

Thanks! It was difficult to get a good photo. It was getting dark...now our days are shorter. We changed the clocks back this past Sunday.
I posted the incorrect name...it should be C. speciosissimum.

That explains why it hasn't got flowering "spikes" then! I was a little thrown by that - kinda assumed that it was a variety.
Speciossum is a truly gorgeous one!
