Mexican Weeping Bamboo is my favorite bamboo. It's a clumping bamboo not a runner. Background trees are Ficus benjamina - Weeping Figs. Photo taken at Sea World San Diego, CA. on Nov. 9, 2010.

Mushybanna:
It is a very nice willowy bamboo. It grows quickly and is quite drought tolerant once established. It is also one of the more tender species of bamboo though.

Now that is unusual, though I have to say I still prefer my lovely black bamboo. lol

Dottydaisy2:
This bamboo is much more manageable than black bamboo.
Although, black bamboo looks good in a rectangular planter...it can't be put into the ground here without taking over very quickly.

Ahhh here it keeps to a nice manageable clump, well, after all this rain it might suddenly decide to romp away!!

Here it would never remain contained...as it's a runner. Bamboo is very popular here, although I think the clumping types are the most manageable.
