what fruit is this?

i thought this was called a 'strawberry tree' but the fruits are the wrong colour!!! they are also larger than i remember seeing before. will they go red as they ripen? seems strange in november?

Just had a look and yes they turn from Orange to Red....edible too!!

I was going to suggest Arbutus.....apparently their flavour is rather insipid....let us know :-))

i didnt know they were edible! thanks for that janey ~ i will have to try amblealice ~ and i will let you know ~ might wait till they are red tho. there are about 20 of them but only about as big as a marrowfat pea??
intrigued now ~ that would be a very unique jam or maybe a couli??

I tried it! ~ no taste, quite dry and all those tiny seeds on the outside ~ not to be recommended!
the only use i can think of is maybe as a garnish!!?

Unusual not seen one before, shame it does nt taste to good, I would of tried it, but now you saying that lol I think I ll give it a miss.

They do look the right shape of the Arbutus Sticky.....I'm not sure that they do turn pink?
