That's a fantastic photo. I love Tibouchinas, having come across them in Italy. Not easy over here - so well done! :-))

Thanks guys!
Took it in the conservatory this evening - taped some green material (poly-cotton, it doesn't reflect the flash) on the wall which has given quite a reasonable illusion of being outdoors (I think).
You're right Spritz! It seems quite happy outdoors even in November, but being tender must come in overnight. With the petals being like silk, any rain destroys them, so has to stay out of the rain. Buds drop if you over or under water it, and it despises our tap water around here! And, you need to tie the green branches up until they go woody if you want a reasonable shape (I haven't).
Despite all that, I love it!

The perfect colour Meanie.....

I even wrote its name down when I first saw it, but having researched its needs, decided I wouldn't go for it - you're very brave, Meanie. :-))

It's colour changes a bit depending upon the amount of sun-light that we have Motinot!
I knew nothing about it Spritz - it was 99p from a charity plant sale. I liked the leaves, and the woman on "duty" assured me that it was lovely! To be fair, it is easy to grow, but picky if you want it right!

I love Tibouchina....I had one once, can't recall what happened to it...but the colour was soooooo pretty! I had it in the conservatory...I wish I still had it!

I shall be propagating back up plants in the spring. I'm led to believe that it can be short lived under UK conditions, even in the house.

I.m just speechless yet again.

Wow,what a silky texture!

The petals are very silk-like Camillia. They light up in the sun or under the camera flash!

Meanie:
Great close up! I wish I could get a close up like this...
All the Tibouchina species are in full bloom here too.

Thank you again Delonix!
It's that colour that takes a few stabs at to get right, depending on the light conditions.

Meanie:
