Daphne x napolitana 'Stasek' (Daphne x napolitana 'Stasek')

It may not look like much now but I have high hopes for this daphne. It's about impossible to find in the US and this is the only size I could get. From what I'm told, this is a pretty tough daphne and doesn't seem very susceptible to phytophthora.

What is the white sprinkled around, please ?
Looks like white gravel ?

It's perlite, I just used it there to help with drainage although I probably didn't need to.
