He's about 8 going on 9 now..he is adopted sort of, had a bad experience as a baby..its taken all of 7 years to get him to some sort of normality. It was very hard work for my son and his wife and my other grandson who is now 21. He wouldnt talk for about 3 years.

that is so sad tet, he is beautiful, what patience your son daughter in law and elder grandson must have, gosh 3 years is a long time,we have friends who adopted 3 years ago, a boy, the little lad had only had a bottle of milk up to 17 months old, but with love and care he is doing really well now,

thats lovely news about your daughter Clarice, hope she doesn't have to wait to long,

I think its a gift being able to take on another's child, my OH aunt fostered nearly fifty (truly, Im not exaggerating) besides having five of her own..she did it for over 20 years with her husband.

yes Yorkshire most of them, the longer term ones anyway. Some were for a few months during sorting out legals..but she has a huge extended family. She's 82 or 84 now, cant quite remember..

you just think of all the good she did in that 20years, I think its wonderful

Well Yorkshire, Im ashamed to say I would have found Joshua too much to cope with let alone five kids and several fosterkids at once!

I've got a Joshua grandson too :) He'll be 10 yrs. old on 2nd Dec.

I admire people who can take on these disturbed and often traumatized little ones and make such a difference to their lives. Three years of non-communication must have felt very disheartening but their perseverance has paid dividends.

A big age gap between the eldest son and Joshua and I expect that will have been a help....3 adults to work with him. I hope, T, that he continues to grow into a loveable and likeable child...sounds like he has a little ways to go.
