Not quite like that anymore Yorkshire..this is the only pic I have of the grandiflora to put on my garden file..that was five years ago.

I will take a better one in the spring..the gazebo arrived this week...sheesh it weighs a tonne!...all in pieces, so will paint during the winter (under neighbour's carport!) and assemble it in early spring..then we have to shovel a tonne of chippings from front to back. Ive decided to plant a fair number of iris in the gravel.

you have a big job on then with the painting and erecting, the iris should look lovely in the gravel.

Unless we get some sunny, relatively "warmish" days, dont think we will paint much of it before Christmas!

I don't blame you, its far to cold to be outside, 38 degrees in our greenhouse this afternoon

That's beautiful

Thanks, Hywel, Sanbaz. We are soo lucky with the view, and at night when its all lit up, including the Clifton Suspension bridge, it looks like fairyland.

I love the road that goes under that bridge, through the gorge, and looking up at it.

And its stunning in Autumn Hywel, cos all the trees on the far side of the river, turn to many shades of gold. I promise you its a place we love too and dont take it for granted. Dont know whether you have done the boat trip..its quite something looking up from the water.

I haven't done the boat trip but it sounds nice.
There was a member from Bristol on here a while back, (he's left now) and I remember he showed photos of the Clifton Bridge area in the autumn. Yes the trees were stunning :o)

A great view and the clematis is doing what it does best, is it still going Tetra? lovely garden pic.

Yes it is DD, MUCH larger now of course..dont know if you noticed, there is a line above the clem? Well thats the top of a wire fence that goes around the paddock. Its about 3ft away from our wall and about a foot or so higher. Our clem has reached that fence and has invaded the allotments! We cant reach that far to cut it (the horses used to keep it short before) but the people there dont seem to mind.

And why should they? it is a delight, I do envy you view. (used to have a view like that many moons ago), worth it's weight in gold.

Yes, thats what the previous owners told us when we tried to knock them down. It was 12pc higher in price than the most modernised house in the area, and was a total wreck! But we didnt regret buying it.

Worth it though? you never get tired of a view like that.

We still thought it was a bargain DD. Its like being on holiday everyday when we look down on the crowded streets from afar..enjoy the wildlife..see all the architectural gems at a glance..wide open skies..oh yes, definitely a bargain! Oh and being able to park the car on the drive..big bonus!
