Carex imperata "Red Baron" (Japanese "blood grass") is the most usual one available, Tommy. looks great with the "Evergold" and Festuca glauca :-))

I didn't know the imperata thing has the name "Red Baron." Thanks David! I love the beautiful and rather unusual colouring of the leaves, although it's difficult to see that in this photo because of the other grass which I don't know the name of except 'carex.' I like that one too, maybe it's called carex comans 'Bronze Form'? Doesn't matter anyway as long as it does well for me :)

Forgot to tell you that I like the "Evergold" too! The other day when I visited the garden centre called Akamba in Birmingham, I saw lots of "Evergold" were used around the mount of a palm tree as a ... ground cover. I thought that was a clever idea! I'd love to apply the idea someday to my garden :)

I love "Akamba," they have lots of exotic plants and massive animal/bird sculptures such as elephants, lions, giraffes etc. Please visit their website if you are interested. I'm attaching a link below:
