Copernicia alba - Caranday Wax Palm

Caranday Wax palm is a pretty uncommon palm here. It grows very slowly like most other species of Copernicia. It will only thrive in very hot temps...which this area usually gets in summer. Cuyamaca College Botanical Garden had two large specimens. Photo taken Nov. 26, 2010.
