Beautiful. Expecting the Snow Queen to come right out of those trees at any moment!

That hedge has grown so tall! You really do have privacy now, and I bet no sound from the road either! Lovely!

There is nothing like pristine snow. I may hate travelling in it, but, must admit, it does add "something" to landscape views. I'm also always amazed by the "audible" silence, which heralds a coming snow shower, and lasts well after.

Karen the trees have reached up to the skies haven't they - they do help with muffling out the noise, road has got to be so busy, can you remember when Paul and I used to walk Lucy cow over the road to the field on Belt Road, we would never be able to do that now.
You can see the road at this time of year when the leaves have gone but now the snow is on the trees it is totally blocked out of our view, just see some lights occassionally, although not much been on the road today. lol.
I have seen enough of it now Elsiemay, David it would be ok if it stayed like this wouldn't it. Silence is golden or so they say.

Lucy Cow? No, sorry, can't remember a cow at all! Take your point though....traffic has got so much busier. Nearly every house has at least 2 cars.

I have a photo of you with Sarah riding on the back of Lucy cow. You were holding her on the cows back.

Good grief!! I have no memory of that whatsover!! My memory is extremely selective, but that's not good news!! Funny how I can recall the 'sloes' in the lane, but not the sister on the cow!! Plant obsessive...that's me!

You were very busy with your music at that time, not plants. Bless thank goodness for photos will try and find it and send you a copy later on in week.

It was part of a different conversation I was having with Ann Mum , about my never being meant to be skinny. It wasn't meant to be naughty! Sorry, it was a bit cheeky, but not meant to provoke a whole lot of old photos!! lol ;))
Are you OK...Janey had about 18 inches more over night!! We haven't had much today but it is sooooooo cooooold. ON the news tonight they are saying no thaw before the New Year at the earliest...what on earth will we do if the petrol dries up? The bread and flour are already scarce up here! Schools opened yesterday and then closed again today...what will they do? No school for the rest of the winter? I'll have to dig my car out of the drive, I can't sit here much longer, I'm starting to go beserk!! It's now so cold that the salt is having no effect whatsoever, so we'll just have to take up ice skating!

We are beginning to thaw this morning - but it was extremely cold overnight,
we also had about 1 further inch of snow, keep clearing it and it keeps coming down after dark. We have managed to get Pauls van out and get to shops so we are ok but I was well organised when it forecast it last Monday I went out and filled up all the freezers with food and bought in flour and yeast so we should be ok. Paul and Sam went to Morrisons and picked up some more bread and milk once they had cleared the drive just to help conserve our stocks. Sam has to go to Lincoln on Monday to visit her new school - Paul is taking her and fetching her back. Not safe for her to drive by herself, I know she will have to do it eventually but think they need a lot more experience before they try and tackle the amount of snow and ice we have. Or are we just over protective? Maybe! Hope you manage to get out soon, it is so tiresome not being able to see anything but four walls and snow and white everywhere. I hate the restriction it causes me with not being able to get out even for a walk, it is far too deep to walk in it, even the dog just toddles down the path, its funny watching him.

I think we'll get out for a walk today....lovely blue sky and sunshine....phew! Snow has now all fallen off the greenhouse, so there is at least some thawing!

It has thawed all day, turning cold again now, but forecast is not good for next week.
